This race takes place in the Royal Victoria Dock. Although not like swimming in a lake, the water does look inviting especially on a sunny day. The event was deferred until September in 2012 due to the London Olympics. 2012 saw the weather deteriorate on the Sunday and the bike leg was a washout for the later participants. Usually lucky with the weather, we predict 18-19℃ in 2014.

The Excel centre is like a large warehouse. The range of retailers there is impressive - MyTriathlon.co.uk had an impressive stand in 2012. A Triathlon at an estate like Bleinham or a stunning location like the Lake District would be our preference, but it's a convenient location for many. Wetsuits are compulsory - this is as much a safety requirement due to the buoyancy a swimming wetsuit provides.
